Hair Stylist, hair colourist and wedding hair specialist, Elise Idiens completed her apprenticeship in Canberra before venturing to Europe where she further honed her hairdresser skills with the distinguished Ikon Hair Design in Cork, Ireland.

Once home in Australia she furthered her skills as a hair colourist at the International award winning Mahogany Hairdressing, Potts Point, Sydney. After extensive training she then spent four years alongside Brad Ngata, Australian’s award winning Hairdresser of the year.

During Elise's four years of hairdressing at Brad Ngata Hair Direction she became salon manager at Brad's prestigious 'IVY' salon, Martin Place, Sydney. And continued to build on her already extensive knowledge on editorial and wedding hair styling techniques.

November 2013 Elise joined the talent at Cleveland's Salon & Cafe´. Here she was able to further develop mens hair cutting and mens grooming and excelled in her services of providing wedding hair services on location nationally and internationally.

Elise has resided in Austinmer, a small creative community on the south coast of NSW. Amongst hairdressing , she also focused on her own photography, producing two photography exhibitions that brought light to regional and remote Australia. As well as collaborating with Koori Country Firestiks. This exhibition offered a community an opportunity to learn about our First Nations Peoples cool fire practices.

This year Elise was an awarded Finalist in the prestigious Art and About “Australian Story” Photography exhibition, hosted in Hyde Park, Sydney.

Currently Elise continues to resides within the Yuin Nation, in the small coastal town of Bermagui, home of the Djringanj Peopels. Elise practises both in hairdressing and photography from a studio that is set up sustainably - no hair washing basin to prevent unnecessary water consumption and no colour to prevent unnecessary pollutants to our environment.

On whole Elise is as a freelance artist in hairdressing and photography. Elise continues work her life project of a MANE & TALES POP UP. Set with the skills from the big city lights Elise takes her hairdressing to rural, remote Australia cutting hair and taking photographs of the peoples she meets to build her social intelligence, to evoke creativity for others, assist in mental health and also offer hairdressers in rural Australia an opportunity of further education.
